Dr. Daniele is a member of the Faculty in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and investigator in the NSF Nanosystems Engineering Research Center for Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies — ASSIST (assist.ncsu.edu). With Dr. Stefano Menegatti, he founded the North Carolina Viral Vector Initiative in Research and Learning (NC-VVIRAL). He joined the faculty in 2015 from the U.S. Naval Research Lab, where he was a National Academy of Sciences Postdoctoral Associate and Jerome and Isabella Karle Distinguished Scholar. Dr. Daniele’s primary area of interest is the broad application of materials and systems engineering to monitor, mimic or augment biochemical processes and biological functions.
